It’s been a bleak year for the live performance industry. Stages around Australia were shrouded in darkness in March as limitations on indoor gatherings took effect. With the easing of restrictions, live music is set to return to CPAC from October with 'CPAC Studio Sounds', a limited series of intimate live performances showcasing some of the region’s finest musicians.
The first show in the series will be an absolute must-see for any music fans, as local legends Outback Radio bring their signature style of blues-infused rock to the CPAC stage on Friday 9 October at 7:30pm.
On Friday 6 November at 7.30pm, The Terence Koo Trio will return to the CPAC stage for an evening of classic jazz, followed later in the month by a special treat for classical music connoisseurs - a Sunday afternoon of timeless compositions. Closing out the first CPAC Studio Sounds season will be local country music legend and nine-time Golden Guitar winner Lyn Bowtell, performing on Friday 11 December at 7.30pm.
CPAC Curator of Performing and Creative Arts, Dr Vicki Sienczuk said her team are looking forward to turning the lights back on in the auditorium. “There'll be some changes to your CPAC experience as we get used to 'business as unusual', but we are ecstatic to be able to welcome patrons back to our theatre after such a long break.”
Whilst CPAC has a current capacity of around 130 people under existing COVID restrictions, to create a truly intimate atmosphere patron numbers for each of the CPAC Studio Sounds performances have been strictly limited to no more than 60 patrons, and there is a limit of two (2) tickets per transaction.
CPAC is a registered COVID Safe business, with COVID Safe plans in place that adhere to the strict guidelines set by the NSW State Government, NSW Health, and Live Performance Australia. More information regarding the various ways in which the health and safety of patrons, performers, volunteers and staff are being safeguarded can be found here.
Tickets for each of the live performances are $39.00 and include a free drink on arrival. Tickets can be purchased on our website or by contacting the CPAC Box Office by phone on (02) 4993 4266 Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 4:30pm.
