Spring Awakening

8 September 2017

Cessnock TAFE grounds

A free family event to celebrate the arrival of spring.

Immerse yourself in an illuminated wonderland and experience a night of fire and light with family and friends.

Warm yourself among flaming sculptures and be intrigued by interactive installations. Enjoy roving performers, entertainment or take part in a creative workshop. There'll be plenty of activities for kids and surprises for the whole family!

Bring a picnic of yummy treats from home or find something delicious from one of our hand-picked gourmet food trucks.

Make a lantern and join us for the Lantern Parade!

The lantern parade is proving to be very popular and is growing every year. Join us from 5pm on September 8 in front of Cessnock Performing Arts Centre and help us make a dazzling procession of lanterns as we illuminate the way to the TAFE grounds. The parade will leave at 6pm sharp. If you haven't made a lantern, pop into the CPAC Box Office between 4pm - 5pm before the parade to purchase a lantern light for $1.00.

Free lantern making workshops will be announced soon - watch this space! All materials supplied.

The Spring Awakening festival will be located at Cessnock TAFE Campus. The parade will begin at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre and end at the TAFE grounds, with the route via Vincent Street.

Spring Awakening is an initiative of Cessnock City Council, designed and developed by Cessnock Performing Arts Centre.

This is an alcohol free event.

Friday 8 September 2017 6pm – 9pm

The Lantern Parade will assemble at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre from 5.00pm to leave at 6pm sharp.

This is a free event.
